Pöttyös utca — overview
Pöttyös utca literally means "Spotted Street", and the station at its junction with Üllői út serves the sprawling József Attila housing estate, one of the large socialist-era microraions of south-east Pest. It opened on 29 March 1980, when the M3 was extended from Nagyvárad tér to Kőbánya-Kispest, and lies between Határ út and Ecseri út.
The shallow, cut-and-cover station has two side platforms 5.60 m below ground. Its exit is at the Ecseri út end, where stairs lead up into the surface building that houses the station. It was closed while the southern section was rebuilt, from 6 April 2019 to 22 October 2020.

This is a station for locals rather than sightseers. Most passengers walk over from the József Attila estate’s apartment blocks and ride a few stops to the Grand Boulevard or the city centre. Wide Üllői út is lined with estate shops, schools and green spaces, and the busiest times are the morning and evening commutes.

Since 29 March 1980, when the Nagyvárad tér–Kőbánya-Kispest section of line M3 opened. Its only major overhaul came in 2019–2020: it was closed for about a year and a half with the rest of the southern section and reopened on 22 October 2020.
