Ecseri út — overview
Barely 4.40 m beneath the junction of Üllői út and Ecseri út, this is a shallow, cut-and-cover station with two side platforms and exits in the middle of the station. It takes its name from Ecseri út, the street alongside, and sits right next to the northern blocks of the József Attila housing estate.
The station opened on 29 March 1980 as part of the M3's southern extension from Nagyvárad tér to Kőbánya-Kispest, which added five stations to the line. Like the rest of the southern section, it was closed for reconstruction between 6 April 2019 and 22 October 2020.

Nearby attractions and places
This is a neighbourhood station, used mainly by residents of the József Attila housing estate commuting into town. Tram 3 runs along Ecseri út, and the area is a mix of housing blocks, local shops and schools. One tip for visitors: despite the name, the famous Ecseri flea market is not here. It is much further south, in District XIX, so don’t get off here looking for it.
