Useful info

  • A transfer takes about a 4-minute walk between platforms (depending on the size of the hub).
  • The estimated travel time does not include waiting for the train — usually 2–3 minutes at peak times.
  • For the exact real-time timetable, use the BudapestGO app.
  • A single ticket is valid for one trip without changing; you need a transfer ticket if you switch to another line (850 Ft).

How the planner works, and which ticket to buy

The planner uses station-to-station running times taken from BKK's official timetable data and adds a few minutes on foot for every change. The arrival time is therefore an estimate: at peak times you may wait 2–4 minutes for the next train, late in the evening up to 10.

Tickets: a single ticket is 500 Ft. If your journey also involves a tram, bus or other vehicle, the 30-minute (600 Ft) or 90-minute ticket (850 Ft) is the better choice, as it allows unlimited changes within that time. If you travel several times in a day, the Budapest 24-hour ticket (2,750 Ft) pays off. Prices are from the official BKK tariff, valid since 1 June 2025.

The 100E airport bus needs its own ticket (2,500 Ft); an ordinary single ticket is not valid on it. The metro runs at weekends and on public holidays, when the Sunday timetable applies.
