Újbuda-központ — overview
Újbuda-központ, meaning "Újbuda Centre", lies beneath the junction of Fehérvári út and Bocskai út, a major crossroads of District XI. Planners first called it Bocskai út. Its underpass was actually built in 2003, together with the extension of the Fehérvári út market hall; the station itself followed from 2006, was the second on M4 to be approved in November 2013, and opened on 28 March 2014.
The platform is just over 13 m down, connected by four escalators and two lifts to an underpass that surfaces on the corners of Fehérvári út, Bocskai út and Október huszonharmadika utca. Water is the central design motif of this open-plan, island-platform station, designed by Palatium Stúdió and Főmterv with architects Zoltán Erő and Máté Antal.

Nearby attractions and places
Trams heading into southern Buda cross the traffic coming off Petőfi Bridge here, so the junction is always busy. Locals come for the Fehérvári út market hall and the Allee shopping centre, while students and commuters change between metro and tram. Móricz Zsigmond körtér, with its cafés and the round Gomba pavilion, is within easy walking distance.
