Móricz Zsigmond körtér — overview
Móricz Zsigmond körtér is the big roundabout-square of southern Buda, and together with Széll Kálmán tér one of the two major transport hubs on the Buda side. The metro station beneath it was anticipated early: when the square was rebuilt in 2002, its pedestrian underpass was designed to fit a future station. The station received its permit on 20 December 2013, marking half of the line complete, and opened on 28 March 2014.
It has a central island platform built with mixed construction methods, using coloured concrete panels, smoke-barrier walls and concrete beams, and three lifts. The square above was renewed during the works, and the round Gomba pavilion in its middle was restored and now has its own metro entrance.

The square is the meeting point of Bartók Béla út, Villányi út and Fehérvári út, and the southern end of tram 6, the round-the-clock Grand Boulevard line. Cafés, bistros and shops line the circus, and the historic Hadik Kávéház is just up Bartók Béla út. You’ll share the platforms with university students, commuters switching to trams for southern Buda and locals out for the evening.
