Pillangó utca — overview
Pillangó utca ('Butterfly Street') is one of only two M2 stations at street level – the other is Örs vezér tere, the next stop east. Two side platforms flank the tracks and are linked by a footbridge, and from about the middle of the station the line bends gently away. A track connection here also gives trains access to the test track that runs towards Örs vezér tere.
The station opened with the first section on 2 April 1970 and was refurbished in 2007. In 2006 BKV, the transport operator, proposed renaming it Kincsem Park after the nearby racecourse, but Hungary's geographical names committee turned the idea down on 18 September 2006.

Nearby attractions and places
It is a low-key stop, used mainly by people who live and work nearby. Kincsem Park, Budapest’s horse-racing track, is not far away, so race days bring extra passengers. Because the platforms are above ground, this is one of the few places on M2 where you ride in daylight. The next stop east is the terminus, Örs vezér tere, for the HÉV and many bus routes.

It opened on 2 April 1970 as part of the first M2 section, Deák tér–Fehér út. It has kept its original name, since the 2006 proposal to rename it after Kincsem Park was rejected. The station was refurbished in 2007 together with the rest of the eastern end of the line.
