Örs vezér tere — overview
M2 ends in the open air in eastern Pest, at the junction of Fehér út and Kerepesi út. Örs vezér tere, next stop west Pillangó utca, has three tracks and two platforms; passengers use one platform and two tracks, while the third track is kept for service use. A single exit leads by stairs to the underpass beneath the square.
The station opened with the first section on 2 April 1970 under the name Fehér út. Early plans had the line ending at Népstadion, but the housing estates going up in the area led to this extension. During the 2007 refurbishment the third track was made fit to take passenger trains as well.

Nearby attractions and places
Locals just call it ‘Örs’. It is the biggest public transport hub in eastern Pest, where the metro meets the terminus of the HÉV lines to Gödöllő and Csömör along with trams, trolleybuses and dozens of bus routes. Three large housing estates – Füredi utca, Kerepesi út and Gyakorló utca – surround it, as do three big places to shop: IKEA, Árkád and Sugár.

It opened on 2 April 1970 as Fehér út, the eastern end of M2’s first section; public service began the day after the opening ceremony. The terminus had originally been planned at Népstadion, and extending the line out here added 2.3 km to the route.
