Mexikói út — overview
The M1's north-eastern terminus lies under Mexikói út in Zugló, the residential district beyond the City Park. By this line's standards it is a newcomer: it opened on 30 December 1973, when the line was extended under the Városliget and the whole 4.4 km route went underground.
There are two side platforms. North of the station are a pair of sidings and the access to the depot: arriving trains set down passengers, pull forward to reverse, and pick up at the other platform. The Mexikói út depot, built with the extension, sits at ground level east of the station, reached by a ramp, and also has a track link to the city's tram network. The station was refurbished again in 1995.

Nearby attractions and places
Mexikói út is a neighbourhood stop rather than a sightseeing one: most riders live in the surrounding Zugló streets or change here. Trams 3 and 69 and several trolleybus and bus lines call nearby, but tram 1 on Hungária körút is a longer walk away, something BKK’s plans would fix with a new station under the boulevard.
