How to get to Hungarian Parliament Building by metro
Overview
The neo-Gothic Parliament Building stands on the bank of the Danube at Kossuth Lajos tér and is one of Hungary's best-known landmarks. It is the country's largest parliament building and home to the Holy Crown. The Kossuth Lajos tér metro station opens directly onto the square, so you step out almost in front of the building.

How to get there
Take the M2 (red) line to Kossuth Lajos tér, a central station on the line and just one stop from Deák Ferenc tér, where the M1 and M3 lines interchange. From the platform the escalator brings you straight up onto the square; the Parliament's visitor entrance is about a 2-minute walk away.
Good to know
💡 The interior can only be visited on a guided tour with a timed, pre-booked ticket, so buy online in advance. The ticket office and visitor centre are underground on the northern side of the square. The metro exit onto the square is step-free and served by a lift.
